RV MARKET INDUSTRY OVERVIEW
Traditional seasonality returned to the RV market as customers purchased units to prepare for peak travel season.
Looking at individual segments, the most recent 10 years of Standard Hitch trailer values averaged 6.1% higher in the May-June period compared to March-April, and 4.5% lower in the half of 2024 compared to the same period of 2023. Fifth Wheel units averaged 4.1% higher in May-June compared to March-April, and 1.4% higher year-over-year. In the Motorhome segment, Class A vehicles averaged 3.2% higher in May-June compared to March-April, and 5.5% lower year-over-year. Class C motorhomes averaged 3.6% higher in May-June compared to March-April, and 7.6% lower year-over-year. Camping Trailer values were 7.8% higher in May-June compared to March-April, and 18.6% lower year-over-year. Truck Campers averaged 4.6% higher in May-June compared to March-April, and 10.8% lower year-over-year.
Inventory continues to build but market conditions in late spring were encouraging. Finance and equity remain headwinds, but demand still exists.
